Tupperware drawer is a great simple win. My other favorite easy way to get some order in your life is tackling your underwear drawer and just getting rid of all of the pairs that suck. 10 identical pairs is my sweet spot and my life is better for it 🤣

Congrats on your almost-finished basement!

I am HERE for not letting tupperware take over your life. About 7 years ago I stumbled onto a solution that's been going strong for me ever since: Glasslock rectangular containers (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LN7X92K/ - no affiliation, just a customer). They work for me because:

- they're clear, so I can see what's in them, so I'm more likely to eat it

- they're glass, which feels more healthy for vague reasons I'm sure I could google

- they nest WITH THE LIDS ON, which means I don't need a lid-storage situation of any kind, which is low-key life-changing. For years I stored 4 complete sets in the tiny cabinet on top of my microwave and didn't allow any other containers into my house, lol.

The other thing I stumbled upon was good old-fashioned mason jars, which are endlessly adaptable. The key is allow only one lid size (normal, wide-mouth, etc.) and be relentless about refusing all others. Then you've got interchangeable jars for leftover soup, dip, salad dressing, etc., but also for drinking glasses, votive candle holders, flower vases, etc. etc. And, I never hesitate about using them to give food / flowers / etc. away, knowing I can always pick up more at a yard sale.

I took Minimal Mom(on youtube)’s advice to store all containers with the lid on. That way you never have to endlessly search for the matching pair. I can fit all the containers I need on their shelve that way, works like a charm 👏

That ad! I have so many of the Tupperware shown in it and I was born in the 80s 😂

Organized (and all matching brand) Tupperware for the win! We use Pyrex - the small, medium, and large round glass bowls (2 of each) with rubber lids. And 2 of each of the rectangle glass with rubber lids. I like the store the lids on them because we store them on the top shelf of our plates/cups/bowls cupboard and the lids ON and then stacking them each two-high helps me see what I have. I’m not super tall but tall enough to reach them when the total situation is ready to grab! :)

Yes! I’ve fought (and lost) too many battles trying to find and reconstitute Tupperware containers to count. Wonderful practical idea.
